2 Miles...they weren't fast....they weren't easy. Got them in. I am in a little bit of pain with both legs, but it feels like something I can live with for the time being. Will probably try for 3 tomorrow then take Friday off...
At least that's progress. What are you doing re: icing, stretching, strengthening around your runs to deal with ITBS? This has been going on way too long for you, and from what I've read, ITBS should be pretty treatable.
I do the stretching that my sports doc and runnersworld suggest. I don't do a lot strengthing...some training to help firm up the hammies and gluts that I have read helps with IT... I have added some knee raises per a discussion board thread on ITBS. Once I feel like I can do them well, I will addsome hip flexor strenthening. I iced last cycle with some mixed results...I know it is something I need to be better about...just seems to make the pain a little more intense. Anyway...
I completed my first ING New York City Marathon on November 1st, 2009 in 4 hours 55 minutes and 5 seconds. This will be my fourth marathon and I am going to bust my butt to break 4 hours on November 7th, 2010.
